Chance to Play
Chance to Play was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the opportunity to play, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
For more than 15 years, I have had the privilege of serving as a coach and witnessing firsthand the impact sports can have on a young person’s life. Coaching has allowed me to see children discover confidence they did not know they had, develop discipline and resilience, build lifelong friendships, and experience the pride that comes from belonging to something bigger than themselves.
Over the years, I have also seen the other side of youth sports. The children who want to participate but cannot because their families simply cannot afford the growing costs. Registration fees, uniforms, equipment, tournament expenses, and travel can quickly turn an opportunity to play into a financial burden. Seeing children potentially miss those experiences because of circumstances beyond their control is one of the reasons Chance to Play is so important to me.
This organization is my opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to me throughout my years as a coach, educator, and mentor. I believe giving back means more than providing financial assistance. It means investing in children, supporting families, strengthening our community, and making sure young people know there are people who believe in their potential.
Chance to Play works to remove financial barriers by providing assistance with sports registration, uniforms, equipment, and other participation related needs for children who may otherwise be unable to take part in organized athletics.
For me, this mission is deeply personal. No child should have to watch from the sidelines.
Every child deserves the opportunity to belong. Every child deserves someone in their corner. Every child deserves Chance to Play.
A Chance to Play is launching soon. Stay tuned.
